On Thursday 6 December, Kevin Sadler, one of our trustees, presented our top walking challenge teams with awards to celebrate their achievement.
The ceremony took place at the Royal Courts of Justice before which we were treated to a tour of the Royal Courts.
Congratulations to our winning teams:
The 3 Amigos - Top Team of Three
Bill Kingston, Dave Evans, Pat Evans (HMRC / retired)
The 3 Amigos are friends and colleagues who, over many years, have completed a number of walking challenges together including a 24 hour team relay walk in France.
Bill also won the overall top walker for the third year running averaging over 32 miles a day despite trying to 'tone it down' a bit this year!
Altogether the team walked 6,883,848 steps equalling 3,098.04 miles.
Return of the Magnificent - Top Team of Four
Stuart Fowlie, Steve Baldwin, Troy Penfield, Alexandra Bullard (Ministry of Justice)
In addition to taking part in The Walking Challenge Stuart also completed the 2018 Ultra Challenge series which comprises of the Isle of Wight challenge, London 2 Brighton, Cotswold Way, Jurassic Coast, Wye Valley, the South Coast challenge and the Thames Path trek before ending his series of events with the Longmynd Hike.
Altogether the team walked 4,107,285 steps equalling 1,848.46 miles.
Sadly the team were unable to attend the award ceremony.
SA Step to it - Top Team of Five
Neill Golding, Cherokee Wells, Marilyn Evans, Nathan Chaggar, Thomas Painter (HMRC)
SA Step to it managed to retain this title from last year, even with a new team member.
Altogether the team walked 6,078,909 steps equalling 2,735.41 miles.

Durdle Dawdlers - Top Team of Six
Robert Gardner, Bruce Mead, Derek Jourdan (unable to attend the ceremony), Wayne Arnold, Lee Webber, Katie Housham (Ministry of Defence)
The team have taken part since 2016 and over the years they have uploaded plenty of nice images on The Walking Challenge Facebook group. This is their first year winning the top team of six award.
Altogether the team walked 6,647,615 steps equalling 2,991.73 miles.
