On Friday 7 December, we celebrated those people across the Civil Service who go out of their way to support others, as part of our very first Community Awards.
Our Community Awards were a chance to shine a spotlight on the activity, happening every day across the Civil Service from your peers. Nominations were open to anyone across the lifelong community, with quality and quantity received overwhelming. From new starters with innovative ideas to wellbeing champions and mental wellbeing advocates, to those supportive colleagues and those doing their bit in retirement.
In total, we recognised 38 of your friends and colleagues; those bringing people together to positively impact the Civil Service community.
Each winner was presented their award by Dame Sue Owen, current chair of the Charity at one of London’s most prestigious livery halls.
We were privileged to hear from several of the award winners, telling us of their achievements and motivations. As well as hearing from someone the Charity has helped, Brian, who explained the difference his Carer’s Passport has made to the life of he and his wife. It was also extra special as we got to meet their guide dog, Lily, absolute star of the show!
