Million Mile Challenge

Introducing The Million Mile Challenge 2019

Registration is now open!

Between 13 May and 1 July we're challenging you to increase your individual step count to 10,000 steps a day - getting fitter and feeling good about yourself.

This year we are also going to be working together as a Civil Service community to walk one million miles in 50 days!

Registration is now open so click here to start the process. As well as registering, don't forget to:

  • get your team together - if you don't want to complete the challenge alone, you can walk in a group of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6
  • set your goals - whether it is to lose weight, get fit, improve your wellbeing, raise some money for the Charity or something else
  • spread the word - we want as many people as possible to join us in this challenge so make sure your whole office knows about it. And don't forget to encourage your family and friends to join in as well
  • join our Facebook group
  • get your footwear sorted. Make sure you have a pair of good quality trainers or walking shoes to complete the challenge that are both comfortable and will encourage you to walk

We will help you throughout the walk with regular email updates and a daily online calendar. You will be able to keep track of your progress on our dedicated website and achieve virtual milestone badges when you reach set step counts. Following the challenge, we also have a walking challenge celebration where we recognise the achievements of some of our top walkers.

And most importantly this is a great challenge for improving your wellbeing, getting fitter and raising money for us so we can support civil servants when times are tough.

"It's made a huge difference to my mental health. Getting out in the fresh air and having time to gather my thoughts has been so relaxing."

Check out the film below to find out a bit more about the Challenge and then return in April to register.
