Our Community Award Winners

The Connie Henry Award

Lynne Haines, Department for Work and Pensions

Over the past ten years, Lynne has gone from success to success. Her passion for fundraising, volunteering and helping others is only ever matched by her infectious enthusiasm. Her exuberant personality makes her a natural point of conversation about the Charity, both in her office and speaking at external events. A genuine, nurturing nature comes through whenever she works directly with the Charity's beneficiaries. As well as taking new volunteers under her wing, Lynne is an accomplished fundraiser who has been pivotal in obtaining the endorsement of the permanent secretary for the Charity's incredibly successful DWP Dress-Down Days. She is a true force for inspiration and a strong example of what a difference one person can make.

The Rose D'Costa Award

Danny O'Brien, Home Office

Danny's unique idea to turn an everyday occurrence into a fundraising opportunity, is at the heart of what fundraising is. His inventive idea was to donate any unclaimed money from office lost property to the Charity. He has been doing this on a monthly basis since 2012 and to date, has raised just under £2,000. The consistency and commitment behind this effective means of fundraising, makes him a deserving winner of the award.
